Inspiring Change: Habema Kemali Residents and TNI Clean School Grounds Together

NDUGA - A shared commitment to environmental care brought together Satgas Yonif Para Raider 503/Mayangkara Kostrad and the residents of Kemali Village in a heartwarming schoolyard cleanup initiative. On Sunday, December 15, 2024, the soldiers, alongside youth activists from SMPN 1 Kenyam, joined forces to transform an overgrown school yard into a cleaner and more inviting space.

Led by Captain Chk Bangun, nine soldiers collaborated with the school’s youth community to clear wild grass that had taken over the yard. The activity was more than just a cleanup; it served as a platform to foster responsibility and environmental awareness among the students. “A clean environment reflects the character and values of the community. By working together, we can build both a healthier space and stronger bonds, ” said Captain Bangun.

The Commander of Satgas Yonif 503 Kostrad, Lieutenant Colonel Gurbasa Samosir, highlighted the significance of this initiative, emphasizing that small actions, like cleaning a schoolyard, can inspire bigger changes in the community. He revealed that the activity was the result of weeks of planning and social communication between the task force and youth leaders. “This collaboration is a testament to the TNI’s dedication to being a partner in Papua’s progress, ” he remarked.

Youth activist Frans Kogoya, one of the students participating in the event, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the soldiers. “Thank you, Commander 503, for helping us clean our school. May God bless you all, ” he said with a wide smile.

Brigadier General TNI Lucky Avianto, Commander of the HABEMA Operational Command, commended the effort, saying, “This activity reflects the TNI’s commitment to inclusive social communication and its role in accelerating development in Papua. Building connections through simple yet meaningful acts can significantly impact community welfare.”

This schoolyard cleanup is just one example of how the TNI fosters unity and progress in Papua. By addressing immediate community needs while supporting broader development goals, they exemplify the spirit of service and partnership.
